Top 5 Things to Do in Madison This Week: April 21, 2025

Earth Day all week, first Bodega, get outside, soccer and more

By Aaron Seligman, MacaroniKID Madison publisher April 20, 2025

Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events and family-friendly ideas in our newsletter. This week our sponsors Warm Belly Farm bring us their free Sprout Spring Makers Market w plus we're excited for:

  1. Earth Day! See, see our guide. Highlights include Earth Fest all week at UW, activities at the Lussier Center Tuesday, and festivals Saturday in Middleton, Elver Park, and Oregon
  2. Badgerland Learning Days Celebration. It's a free blowout Thursday at the Children's Museum with tons of community partners and performances, as part of Badgerland Remake Learning Days
  3. The Bodega - and soccer + library @ Breese. Thursday has the first Bogeda, with an egg hunt and tons of vendors at the (enclosed, but with tons of space to explore) Breese Stevens Field. And Saturday, Forward FC helps kick off (pun intended) the library's youth writing contest with books to check out and more.
  4. Friday night game nights. If you're out west, KEVA has a free family game night, and for just $5 (per team) join family trivia and crafting at the Curious Crafter on the east side.
  5. Get kids outside Sunday! Take a walk at the Bird & Nature Festival (and enjoy food carts) at Warner Park, or head to Waunakee for Schumacher's Spring on the Farm with kites, seed gardens, hikes, and more.

What did we miss? You can add events to our calendar (it's free!) and contact us about promoting your event or organization.
